I bought hp black ink and installed it but its not recognizing it. It said to reset memory but I don't have that. I did a factory reset, took it out and put it back in a few times, shut power off and on a few times. Still won't recognize it

This could be an issue with the ink cartridges or the printer ink system.
If you have already performed the steps from the document HP Printer Does not Print and Error Indicates Faulty Ink Cartridge and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.
Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
