I have a HP chromebook and a HP printer. I have had messages stating that the printer won't be supported after December.
The printer worked via cloud print which is not something I consciously set up. Now I cannot get the laptop and printer to link via WiFi. Is this because it is not compatible? The printer is an ENVY 5540 series. Please help. I find printers extremely confusing

@AlexanderMason, Welcome to HP Support Community!
Google Cloud Print services by Google are discontinued at the end of 2020, therefore the warning message:

You should likely be able to print using the HP Print for Chrome app- https://support.hp.com/ee-en/document/c04683559
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
