HP Officejet 6600

I am having problems printing from my wireless HP Officejet 6600.  At one point it was "offline".  Several times  I accessed the "HP Print and Scan Doctor" to try to correct the printer from being offline . . . and somehow the printer was switched to a online connection?  Now when I try to print, the printer has the message "DO NOT DELETE - Needed for HP45EOAF (HP Officejet 6600".  When I want to print something i.e. from Word or Excel, I have to save the document, create an email, attach the saved document, and send to a newly created email address which sends the message with attachment to the printer.  After some time, it will eventually print.  This is very annoying and a long way to go about printing.  I cannot just print what is on the computer screen i.e. email, document, etc.

Sure hope someone can help.

@Pam77

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well.

  • Use HP Print and Scan Doctor to check connectivity.
  • Set the default printer and unpause printing.
  • Reset the printer and check the connection status.
  • Make sure the correct port is selected.
  • Update the printer firmware.
  • Create a manual connection.
  • Add a second printer device to Windows.
  • Add the printer using HP Printer Assistant. (do not skip any troubleshooting steps if you feel steps are repeating)

Click here and refer the document to perform the above steps.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
