Hi all, I need to put one of my printers that use Instant Ink service on a LAN connected to the WEB with a wireless 4G (LTE) router.

In others words the printer can't be reach on a static IP address . Is the use of DDNS could be a solution, if not, what else ?

Thanks for your help, have a good day,

Noaova

@noaova, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

The printer will work on a dynamic IP address. However, a static IP address is recommended to have a stable connectivity between the printer and the Instant ink server.

There is no setting that has to be changed to connect the printer to a dynamic IP address. You just have to connect the printer to your wireless router.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi KUMAR 0307 ,

Many thanks for your help, I will test the Instant Ink server connexion in few days.

If I understand, the instant Ink communication process between the server and a printer is initated each time by the printer, is it true ? Do you know a short communication description on the Web ?

Have a good day,

@noaova

Yes, check and let us know 🙂

The communication between the server and the printer is woken for a print job or copying. So, yes the printer initiates the communication.

I hope that answers your concern adequately. Let me know!
