Printing photos

I have an HP envy photo 7134 and have had so many problems getting photos printed that this is the second printer I have had due to HP sending out a new one. 
I tried to print with non HP photo paper and the photo tray just wasn’t recognised so either defaulted to A4 or didn’t print at all. I bought one pack of HP photo paper and it worked. I have now bought another pack of HP photo paper and it is back to the same fault again. 
HP advised that any paper could be used but it doesn’t flood like that is the case. Has anyone else had similar problems and resolved them?

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the "Photo Printing" issue. 

To better assist you - 

1) What is the size and type of photo paper you are using?

2) What's the application you are trying to print from? Have you tried printing from a different application or device? 

3)What device are you using the printer with, a Windows computer, Mac, Android or an iPhone?

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
