I have the exact same issue.. While I didn't more, I did not use the feature for a while. Went to use it today and ..Yup, busted like your describe.    I looked at the document you posted and While my printer is not listed ( OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus) everything else on the doc matches exactly.      VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED in HP.   Ok sure it might not have enough memory for a larger firmware update, but that doesn't justify shutting down a service.     Yeah, think this is the last straw for my relationship with HP.
