Reinsert or lower photo tray

Printer instructing me to lower or reinsert phot tray so it can print.I’m not printing a photo and cant figure out how to do this. I haven’t changed it and just printed the other nite

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I understand that you are having a photo tray problem on your Photosmart 6520 printer. I would suggest to take out the photo tray and reinstall the tray and check. Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

Reset the printer

1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

Update the printer firmware

On the printer screen, go to Setup > ePrint > Product update > Check for updates

• First, follow http://hp.care/2hpQ3wG to remove the input tray.
• Once done, try removing the photo tray and reinstall the same. You can check http://hp.care/2hpKTAy to reinsert the photo tray to the main tray.
• Restart the printer and check the solution.
