I got two ink cartridges sent by the mail via the Instant ink program. There is no problem with the black ink cartridge, but the colour cartridge is not recognized by the printer. I have tried updating the printer software and I have also done a hard reset of the printer, but nothing helped. Is this problem due to the cartridge or the printer?

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I understand the tri-color ink cartridge is not getting recognized by the printer. I'd be happy to assist you.

 

Kindly perform step 3 mentioned in this document to resolve this issue.
