Make sure the router has different names for the 2.4ghz  band and the 5ghz band

Connect the printer to the 2.4 band using the password for the 2.4

General help for new router
1 - Restore Wi-Fi setup mode on your HP printer
2 - Wi-Fi connection is lost after router or network settings change
3 - HP Smart help with printer connection.

Please provide the exact model name of the printer for better assistance as there may be videos to show how to connect.

Hi Beemer Biker,  thanks for the information.  Yes I am trying to connect to the 2.4ghz band.   I restarted the printer,  I restarted the router,  I reinstalled the app.   Still get the same problem  ... wrong password.

The HP Printer I have is  HP Laserjet 107W Mono Printer (4ZB78A).

Will try options you provided.

The latest HPSA supports 36 languages and can be downloaded here. Microsoft's AI assistant is in the latest Windows 10 and 11 releases and there are instructions here on how to enable the AI. Microsoft's AI assistant (Copilot) has a microphone button and supports natural language processing.

You may need to reset your printer

Hold down the red x for 10 seconds to print the network configuration page. This is needed for Wi-Fi direct setup.

An easy way to connect is to use the WPS button on the modem/router. See page 35 of the User Manual. Page 37 of the same manual shows how to setup Wi-Fi direct where you bypass the router and print directly to the printer. Look at the network configuration report to find the name of the 107w network and the password.

This video might be useful. At the 2 minute mark the author starts HP Smart up to configure the printer. He uses a smartphone but a laptop could be used.  A transcript in English shows up occasionally.

In case you need to reinstall software here is the full win10/11 package

Let me know if you have a flex system (Wi-Fi boosters or repeaters) as the setup is much more complicated when using the router type of connection.
