Product: Hp photosmart premium c309a

Hiya,

i just got a second hand hp photosmart premium c309a printer.

i am trying to connect my work printer but due to the laptop restrictions I cannot download the printer software for printing. The laptop is able to identify the wireless printer but then asks for a passcode. How do I retrieve that please?

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

I believe you are trying to connect to the wi-fi direct network of the printer and it's asking for the wi-fi direct password.

Try 12345678.

 

If it doesn't work then to find the Wi-Fi Direct name and password, print the network information page, and try the wi-fi direct passcode/password from that information page.

Is the printer connected through your Wireless Router, same as your Laptop?

 

If Yes, then you need to use the same password as your Wireless Network
