Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

The paper tray indicates empty. We followed the video offered & completed all steps but tray still shows empty.

When I insert I sheet of paper & press print it prints perfectly.

Any suggestions on how we might get the tray to accept a stack of sheets?

Hi @mwr1836

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the  "paper tray" error.

Follow the instructions below to resolve the issue-

  1. Lift the output tray

  2. Figure : Lift the output tray

  3. Slide the paper width guides out as far as possible.

  4. Insert the paper print-side down in the tray. Push the stack of paper into the tray as far as possible. Make sure that the paper is not higher than the solid red line on the paper stack guide located on the side of the tray.

       CAUTION:

Do not load paper while the printer is printing. Jams or paper feed issues might occur.

  5. Slide the paper width guides in until they touch the edge of the stack of paper.

  6. Lower the output tray.

  7. Pull out the tray extender, and then lift the paper catch.

Also, try the steps in the document - 'Out of Paper' error displays, printer does not pick paper

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
