I'm trying to set up WiFi direct on my phone to send documents to get printed on my wireless hp desk jet 2600 printer. But the printer does not show a WiFi direct icon on the control panel display. But it is showing a WiFi signal icon. Prior to that I am having so much trouble to print anything out of it. It's not connected to the network (not set) according to what's on my wireless network test results. Why is the WiFi direct icon not showing on the display panel?

Hi,

You should enable Wifi Direct to allow a direct connection to the printer, please see Page 65 of its user guide below with detailed information about enabling and using Wifi Direct with your printer:
