Please use Apple Play and install HP Smart on your iPad and use it to print

Hello,
I understand you cannot print from an iPad but you can from an iPhone, This is an indication of a network related issue. I suggest you update the iPad to current version of iOS. You can use Airprint without installing any additional software. Make sure the printer is connected to 2.4 GHZ network that is not public WiFi or a Guest Network.
Please follow the troubleshooting steps listed in this document.

Please follow the first three steps in order and if you need further assistance follow the steps under the section What if a "No Airprint Printers Found " displays on my Apple iOS device.
I also suggest you check for a firmware update for the printer.
