@Coach2323, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When your HP OfficeJet Pro 6830 recognizes the wireless network but won't connect — and the wireless test report shows "No Filtering: Fail" — that typically means the printer is being blocked from accessing the network, often due to MAC address filtering or router-level security settings.
Here's how to fix this:
✅ Step-by-Step Troubleshooting
Check Router MAC Filtering
- Log into your Wi-Fi router's settings page (usually by typing 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 in your browser).
- Look for MAC Filtering or Access Control.
- If MAC filtering is enabled, your router will block any device not on the allowed list.
- Disable MAC filtering, or add your printer’s MAC address to the allowed list.
- You can find the printer’s MAC address on the Network Configuration Page.
Power Cycle Everything
- Turn off the printer, router, and PC/phone.
- Wait 60 seconds.
- Turn on the router first, then the printer, then your device.
- Try connecting again.
Manually Reconnect the Printer
On the printer:
- Go to Setup > Network Setup > Wireless Setup Wizard.
- Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the correct password carefully.
Printer Network Reset (if needed)
If all else fails:
- On the printer, go to:
Setup > Network Settings > Restore Network Defaults - Then go back to Wireless Setup Wizard and try reconnecting.
🛠️ Additional Tips
- Make sure your router is using 2.4GHz band.
- Ensure your Wi-Fi password doesn’t have special characters that may confuse the printer.
- Temporarily disable firewall/security settings on the router to test connection (just to isolate the issue).
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
