I’m having issues with the black ink on my printer and both cartridges are full.  My printer did sit i storage for about a year and I’m trying to use it again.

@Technodumb, Welcome to HP Support Community!

 

I see that the printer does not print in black, this could be an issue with the printer ink system or the ink cartridges.

 

Follow the steps from the document Color or Black Ink Not Printing to isolate and resolve the issue.

 

Also, Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
