hi everyone,

I have the all-in-one and it works fine in windows (but less satisfactorily under linux).

anyway, I was trying to connect the printer to a different network as I changed the router, but couldn't find the right choice on the display menu, so I connected via USB and entered the menu from the PC and I think I made some mistake. now I cannot connect to the menu via USB and cannot print. I need to start from zero and cannot understand how to do it.

I saw the same post from other users, but all answers were sent on private messages, so the solution is not public.

can anyone let me have the right procedure? I found some strange procedures on internet (like keep pressing 3 and #, disconnect cable, reconnect and wait for complete startup before releasing the buttons, but it did not work for me).

thanks

hi Mr HP, no news?

sorry, but I find really unbelievable that the factory reset is such a secret thing to be solved with private messages.

I buy a printer, I expect the reset procedure to be described in bold fonts on the first page of the manual.

I cannot be stuck for one week waiting for some instruction like this.

then, if HP wants to keept it secret like a Mossad operation, at least I would expect to receive the answer in one-two days.

now almost one week is passed, my printer is a brick, and  I had to print on my neighbour's Bro--er printer (not bad, by the way... at least you can reset it if you need).

I know the tone of this post may sound too hard, but believe me, it doesn't convey my sense of disappointement at all.

No news, no reply from HP....no comment.

I've been in trouble for 2 weeks now and still no vital signs about something (resetting my printer) that I should be able to do by myself (with the manual, of course).

the procedure for resetting this printer seems the fourth secret of Fatima.

@brasello, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

Hi Kumar, as the solution proposed in the private email didn't work, as you suggested I opened a case in the HP support forum. waiting for an answer. So far the problem is still unsolved for me.
