low ink on my 8025 printer

I am buying ink constantly and cant get through a few docs before it is out again or half prints clearly!

@bktexas, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

  • Are you printing photos or regular text documents?
  • Printing photos or on photo papers consume more ink than printing regular documents.
  • Also, check the print settings on your MAC. Printing in BEST mode consumes more ink than NORMAL or DRAFT mode.
  • Refer to this document to know how to change the print settings. 

For now, reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

 

Update the printer firmware

Go to Setup > Tools/Printer maintenance > Update the printer.
