officejet pro 6978

So I have a Officejet pro 6978 and it has always worked great except for a couple days ago it had a paper jam. I removed the paper and went to proceed with printing but now it keeps displaying on the screen to remove any jammed paper and make sure paper tray is installed properly. I have done so many of times with no luck. The ink carriage seems to be jammed because it is stuck to the right side and won't move for me to even remove the ink cartridges. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

@Hambone30, Welcome to HP Support Community!

I see that the printer is experiencing carriage jam along with false paper jam error. I'd suggest you follow the steps from the document A 'Paper Jam' Error Displays to resolve the issue.

For carriage jam, you can refer to the document 'Carriage Jam' or 'E3' Error Displays.

If the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure. Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Hope this helps!
