re set password

I had issues with my printer working on my iMac and my wife iPad.   I decided to re run the printer on my iMac  reinstalled and working fine with no issues also connects to Instant ink with no issues.

However my wife can not print direct from her I pad when checking i default screen comes up asking to enter password for DIRECT-57-HP ENVY 5640 series.

However I am not aware of what this password is or ever had to put one in before.  

When i reloaded on the iMac  i did not need any passwords at all. The printer worked  straight away.

Hopefully some one can assist either where i find this password or how I can reset it.

As i side i have just tried to run the printer from my mobile  and downloaded  the Hp smart app thinking this would help, however it is also asking for a password with the message..DIRECT-57-HP ENVY 5640 series.

@mark223, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

It seems like you are trying to connect the printer and the iPad using wifi-direct. Do not do this.

Connect the iPad to your wireless network(2.4G). Same as the printer is connected to.

Refer to this document to know how to print from iOS devices.
