I have installed a validated win 7x64 as 2nd os on the notebook but cannot find chipset driver - usb and other stuff does not work, could not find it at amd.  Saw drivers for 17-e049 - a different amd processor.  I see hp supports win7 rollbacks, thought I would find it here but cannot.  Any suggestions?

Just registered, see it says I am a student - Nope!  retired it pro (mainframes).  Will find my profile and correct it after this post

I did a scan for new hardware today in an attempt to pick up my logitech wireless mouse, which it did not find (so I downloaded it from logitech), but it did find the unknown device and windows update found and installed the usb drivers.  Why it would not do it before, I know not, but the issue is resolved....

Hi:

You can download and install the AMD chipset driver your notebook needs from the link below.

You want the 1st file listed on the webpage.  Install and restart the PC.

ok - downloaded and installed and rebooted.  I moved mouse from 2.0 to 3.0 port and it worked (had not tried 3.0, wonder if it always worked?).  I manually installed drive guard and touch pad drivers, they are fine, reducing unknown devices from 4 to 2..  USB 2.0 port is dead, remaining unknown devices are PCI device: PCI bus 3, device 0, function 0 (card reader or cam? - don't have a SD to try it), and unknown device: AMDBUS30\ROOT_HUB308VID_1022&PID_7814 + 2 more adding REV...

You need this driver for the PCI device.  Download, unzip and run the setup application from the first file listed at the link below.

You only got a partial USB3 driver install from the chipset driver for some reason.

Try these USB3 driver from a similarly equipped HP business notebook...install both and restart the PC.

ok - had what I thought was a brilliant idea - told driver update to search the win10 dirrectory for drivers - it found the card reader but not the usb stuff - so running windows update as I write this...

stopped windows update, loaded the two drivers, rebooted, no change...

Windows update just sits there for hours and does nothing.

Wonder about deleting all usb drivers and starting over - think that would work?

I can live without the usb2.0 driver, it's just that I loose the port, but with 2 active 3.0  ports that is not a big deal since I have so far not needed 3 usb ports.
