I am identified as "student" next to my avatar. Since I not a student but am really just a "senior citizen" maybe a student of life's hard hurdles, how can I change my designation to something like "senior citizen"?

Hi,
This designation is actually part of the Ranking system used by HP - further details can be found Here.
It would seem you're an 'Honor Student' now
Best Regards,
