I am having audio problems on my laptop. The mute button on the top right of my keyboard stays orange and no audio is playing.

The message I see under my audio playback is AMD High Definition Audio Device Not Plugged In. I've searched through this discussion board and I have seen where people are reinstalling drivers and the ones that are mentioned don't seem compatible with my laptop. I actually get a "this app has been blocked for your protection" message.

So I am at a loss. No luck with the audio.

In Device Manager, I just have AMD High Definition Audio Device listed under Sounds, Video and Game Controllers.

I have tried the BIOS F10 route and it all looks fine under Audio - everything is checked and when I do a test through BIOS there is a sound that plays during testing, however I can't get regular audio to play (music. videos, etc).

Any help is appreciated!

PS - this laptop did not come with Windows 10, it came with Windows 7 or 8 - so 10 was installed recently by my work and maybe this is causing the disconnect with the audio?
