Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

I am attempting to use an AUX cord to get audio from one device to my laptop, however my laptop only recognizes the AUX cord as an output source instead of an input source. Is there any way to get the laptop to recognize the AUX cord as an input? The laptop is compatible with wired headsets which are simultaneous input/outputs, so the jack should accept inputs as well.
