Here's a quick run-down of events that lead to this situation:

  1. Updated drivers using AVG Driver Utility

  2. Built-in microphone stopped working

  3. Reverted to old drivers

  4. No fix.

  5. Deleted old drivers and restarted

    1. I don't remember what it was called but one of the Intel SST drivers that I deleted never came back. It was something like "Identifier" or something.

  6. Now I get error: Code 10 for Intel SST OED and the output audio stopped working.

  7. Downloaded/installed drivers from HP website

  8. No fix

  9. Tried using multiple Win11 troubleshooting utilities

  10. Tried using HP Utility

  11. Tried using DisplayDriverRemover
  12. Tried doing a Windows Repair ReInstall

Please help, any advice is appreciated!

Hi @Spectre3njoyer

I don't understand why I use a non-HP approved program to update the driver, Then these issues occur.

go to the device manager, then click on Sound, video and game controllers, uninstall the Realtek driver, it will ask if you want to remove the software, check the box, accept and then restart the device, then install the next sound driver.

Ok, so there was no Realtek driver to uninstall (because I already removed it with DDR) but I followed the next step and installed the software that you provided in the link. I then restarted the laptop but nothing has changed and I still have the problem.

I can't help you much, you used drivers that were not for your specific model but generic drivers that install these programs, try to find a restore point before that update in windows and remove the update.

I don't understand what you mean by this.
You gave me a link and I used it (following your instructions).
Unfortunately there is no restore point.
What is the next possible solution please?
