I'm experiencing some audio issues with my wife's new Pavilion 15z-cw100. It surfaced just recently after working fine for several months. What's most frustrating is that this issue is only present when using the onboard laptop speakers- when using a headset, everything works just fine.
I've tried all of the recommended fixes within this thread and nothing seems to fix it. In my case, I can get the sound to return to normal for a few seconds after uninstalling/reinstalling drivers, but within 10-15 seconds it returns to a nearly muted state (15-20% of full volume). Sometimes if I pause a video or music, it will return for a split second, then back down to mostly muted.
I also don't seem to have the 'Enhancements' tab that is referenced. I only have four (4) tabs under 'Speaker/Headphone Properties'- General, Levels, Advanced, Spacial Sound. No 'Enhancements'.
I've tried the following with no success:
- Uninstalling/Reinstalling Drivers
- Updating Realtek Driver to v6.0.8799.1
- Running Troubleshooter
- Updating all the setting changes identified in multiple support threads here.
- HP Support Assistant was useless- no issues identified even though it switches in a split second from full audio to mostly muted when I click "test audio".
Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

This is something to do with AMD drivers. Please
(a) Uninstall Audio driver
(b) do a cleanup using following information/fix:
https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/gpu-601
https://drivers.amd.com/drivers/amdcleanuputility.exe
(c) reboot machine
Machine will re-install Audio driver for you.
Regards.
