Omen Laptop 17'
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Sound works fine on the laptop, which is connected to external speakers using the headphone jack.

But when I start anything that produces sound (a video, music player, games) I first hear this annoying pop sound. A bit like when you plug in or out the audio jack, but not that loud.

The popping sound isn't just once when the laptop starts. It's every time if you haven't played sound long enough.

I've already updated the BIOS and the audio drivers are already up-to-date from Windows update (HP support assist also doesn't indicate there are more recent drivers available).

Does anyone else have this, or have any experience with this?

Odd fact: when I use HDMI for sound, I don't get the popping sound. For other reasons I can't use this anymore, so I'm back to the audio-jack on the laptop.
