Hello there,
My laptop is:
Serial number: [edited]
product number: W9A01EA#AKS
The issue is as follows:
After a windows update, the B&O driver stopped working, tried uninstalling the audio drivers based on a couple responces i found in the forums, and after the 18th restart I gave up.
The B&O drivers are completely missing from my laptop and uninstalling the audio drivers and re-installing them from page with suggested drivers for my machine does nothing.
There is no separate download for the B&O drivers anywhere on the site.
My volume is extremely low in most cases. Is complete windows reinstall the only option here?
Hope you can assist with a quick solution.

Hi,
The B&o gui is provided by the Realtek HD Software package, so try the following.
Download the Realtek HD Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp78501-79000/sp78631.exe
When done, hold down the Windows key and press R
Into the Run window, type devmgmt.msc and hit enter.
In Device Manager, expand Sound, Video and Game Controllers. Right click the Realtek device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, download and reinstall the Chipset driver on the following link.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp78001-78500/sp78355.exe
When the Chipset reinstallation has completed, restart the notebook.
When windows has reloaded, open your Downloads folder, right click on the Realtek installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation. When this has completed, restart the notebook again and let windows fully load for a few minutes before checking.

Hello David,
It was a valiant effort, however same as the previous dosens of times, after following the instructions there is still no B&O gui on my laptop.
Is reinstalling the windows a valid solution, or is there another way?
Your assistance is appreciated.

Hi,
You're welcome
While reinstalling Windows 10 may well solve the issue, it shouldn't really be necessary.
Try downloading and installing the Realtek software package on the link below.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp78501-79000/sp78936.exe
When the installation has completed, restart the notebook.
When reloaded, open windows Control Panel and in the top right, next to View by: select 'Large Icons'. From the new layout, is there any sign of the B&o icon?

Hello again David,
I tried installing the driver pack you suggested, after installing it and restarting the the notebook, there is still no sign of the B&O icon in the control panel icon list.
Tried searching for it in the start menu apps and even search bar in Windows Explorer, alas nothing comes up.
I really do not understand what went wrong. I had the same issue last year with an update from widnows, however reinstalling the right drivers fixed it.
This time I do not know what else I can do.
Is there a way do install the B&O driver directly?

Hello again,
Since in has been a few days since the last responce with no follow up, should I assume that there is no solution for the issue I am having?
I read a few other dead threads where people are having similar problems, but I haven't found anything that works.
Is the B&O gui gone for good from my system?
Reinstalling windows is my last resort and if it does not fix the issue, the quality of sound is bellow what I deem acceptable for the machine I have bought.
