HP ENVY x360 - m6-aq103dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hey all,

Wondering if anyone knows why this is going on. I own a

HP ENVY x360 - m6-aq103dx  just, recently uninstalled firefox, went with Google Chrome browser, because I got myself an aftermarkt radio from EONON, and there radio is pretty much a glorified Android tablet. So, I can log into in my google account, and check email, watch youtube..ect..

At anyrate.. after I've swapped over from one browser to another, I've been noticing that on youtube, which I'm on that site a lot that when the video starts audio is strong and loud.. then it will completely drop so i've noticed that under my output setting i have it ticked off 'VOICE'.  For some strange reason that will automaticaly move fom 'voice' to 'movie' I'mnot watching a movie at all. I dont know what's going on, I have to keep switching out to voice cause it sounds better.

I've also went into the equalizer settings, and went to custom and moved the 5 settings to the very top.. so the audio is loud, that never changes.. just the output setting.. Now, I don't recall if this ever did this while using Firefox.

Thanks

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

I see that the audio settings are changed automatically, I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. You’ve done an excellent job on diagnosing the issue from your end. Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • When was the last time it worked fine?
  • Have you made any hardware/software changes?
  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update?

While you respond to that, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

Note: you can also try using Microsoft edge browser or Internet Explorer to isolate the issue

Let's perform Windows Update and HP Support Assistant:

To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.

Install updates from HP Support Assistant: Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.

  1. To open HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon https://support.hp.com/doc-images/932/c05040382.jpg.
  2. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
  3. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
  4. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
  5. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
  6. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install. (This should fix the issue)

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
If I have helped you resolve the issue, feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon below, Followed by clicking on "Accept as solution" from the drop-down menu on the upper right corner,

I had a bunch to download, thank you for letting me know to get the HP software,  I had it installed earlier, before I reinstalled Windows. I reinstall Windows, about twice a year, just to do a clean start over. I've been checking my updates, thru the settings or control panel as well.

I think it changes automaticaly, when it detacts a video while being on youtube, and not streaming just an audio source.
