Hi,

 

I bought a Hp Omen a few months back and the issue has finall become too much and need to get it sorted.

 

Basically the bang and olufsen speakers on my laptop fade out to to the point where I can not hear them even though I am not editing the volume level and once it goes completely quiet it will then 'reset' to sound level I actually have it on and will then fade out again. This is something that repeats and repeats. 

 

The issue has been something i've had for a few months however have just got on with as I cannot afford to send my laptop off because of work and most the time my audio is plugged into extrenal speakers where there are no sound issues.

 

Any help would be great!

Hi,

 

Try the following.

 

Download the Realtek HD Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.

 

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp80501-81000/sp80538.exe

 

When done, hold down the Windows key and press R

 

Into the Run window, type devmgmt.msc and hit enter.

 

In Device Manager, expand Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the Realtek device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.

 

When complete, download and reinstall the Chipset driver on the following link.

 

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp78001-78500/sp78355.exe

 

When the Chipset reinstallation has completed, restart the notebook.

 

When windows has reloaded, open your Downloads folder, right click on the Realtek installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, restart the notebook again and let windows fully load for a few minutes before checking.

David--is the soley as a way to restore speakers, per the question, or restore complete function of the B&O sound? Thanks Andy
