I've followed this thread: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Audio/Beats-audio-not-working-after-windows-10-update/td-p/6...and installed the http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp63501-64000/sp63555.exe
driver which doesn't seem to have done anything.
I also tried this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJnjqE0-avQ (I tried to install Driver http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp59501-60000/sp59542.exe but got a message saying it's not supported * SO I HAVE CURRENTLY UNISTALLED MY IDT HIGH DEFINITION CODEC DRIVER AND HAVE NO SOUND, as the replacement file did not work)
Can anyone give instructions on how to fix this, and on how I actually check if beats audio is working after the fix, apart just by listening to some music and trying to decide if it sounds better than before?!
Any help would be appreciated.

Just to update, I now have my IDT speakers working again, but I'm pretty sure they do not have Beats audio benefit - so I'm looking to restore Beats Audio, and have a method to check this is actually successful.#
Many thanks

Hi:
The only suggestion I can offer, would be to try this W10 IDT audio driver, and restart the PC.
6.10.6492.0
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71501-72000/sp71886.exe
Sometimes this driver sets the headphones as the default audio device, so if you have no sound after installing the driver, go to the windows control panel>hardware and sound>sound>manage audio devices and set the PC speakers as the default.
