To connect hearing aids to a notebook with Bluetooth, there are two possibilities. The classic one is a streamer device with a standard Bluetooth connection, just like any other Bluetooth audio device. The streamer itself will then use some kind of audio streaming to connect to the actual hearing aids. This should always work, since it is a standard Bluetooth audio connection.

The new method is using Low Energy Bluetooth and the "Audio Streaming for Hearing Aids" (ASHA) protocol that is stacked on Bluetooth LE. In this situation both hearing aids have their own Bluetooth receiver, and they both have to be paired with the Bluetooth transmitter of the notebook. The Bluetooth driver then has to combine these two devices to one virtual stereo audio device.

Bluetooth LE is present on my notebook so it seems (Bluetooth LE devices in the Device Manager), so this essential part for the connection is present. However, I can pair both hearing aids, but they will not turn up as one audio device. So I assume something is missing in the (Windows??) drivers, ASHA doesn't work.

Can any one shed some light on this problem?
