HP Envy Notebook x64-based PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm running an HP ENVY Notebook x64-based PC (System SKU: Y0F93AV) with Microsoft Windows 10 Home Version 10.0.18363 Build 18368.

The machine uses CONEXANT ISST Audio, but I'm not sure if that is the problem or not.

The problem is that when I try to record line audio, using AUDACITY with WASAPI, the machine actually begins to vibrate and either a very loud screech mixed with a hum as well as the source sound occurs.  I have to shut it off ASAP.  I have other HP machines with different OS's ( mostly Windows 7) and RealTek audio, that work fine using this configuration.  Is there a know fix for this problem?  Please advice.  Thanks.

Your machine is an HP ENVY NOTEBOOK 17T-U000 CTO. Please download and perform a Clean install (uninstall old drive - reboot - install new drive - reboot) Conexant High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver :
