I have been having an issue with recording my audio for a month now with my laptop. The external headset doesn't work when plugged into the laptop. The internal microphone works fine but it inst great and i need my headset to give presentations in class. Before you tell me what to do please review what i have done thus far to try fix the issue.
- I have installed both Realtek and HP drivers (all the ones associated with audio)
- I have troubleshooted the audio and it mentions there is a problem preventing it starting or it says there is no issues
- I have gone into sound devices and set my headphones as the default (also no audio plays when I'm in that screen on the green bar indicating sound volume)
- I have gone into device manager and updated drivers associated with audio
- I have changed the headphones to wireless ones and the issue was still there
- I got new headphones
- I reset my laptop
- I reinstalled everything and still no luck
- I used hp audio control to show my headphones
- I have used Realtek audio controls
- I have used a wide range of recording media to test the mic
- I have enabled it on privacy settings in my laptop
The issue only started after a bad windows update corrupted my hard drive and I had to reinstall windows on the device. I appreciate any advice on the matter if you either know how to fix it or have been in the same boat. Thank you.
