Thanks for the update. Yup, re-installing almost always helps but not always an option, In my case I have a very specific set of software and customization so doing a clean install equals to a complete disaster for me. Given HP Support Assistance somehow checks the version of driver is installed it feels much easier to do miniscule update to registry/file/whatever to fix that rather than doing a clean install and all other things afterwards.

I've downloaded the latest and newer version of HP Support Assistant. After its installation, a prompt appeared which said that Conexant audio driver information etc was removed from the notifications. Up to now, I've seen no recent notification about the audio driver and any relevant update. However, I am somehow reluctant to download manually the audio driver in case it fails again.

@TopGear: Yes, can confirm this experierence. But beware: It is kind of tricky to update to the latest update assistant. You need not only to uninstall HP Update assistant but also something that is called HP update framework or something like this. Otherwise you have no chance to install the new update assistant. It cost me some hour to figure that out. Very annoying. And so unnecessary..

I have been having this same error now for almost a year now. Even when I download the update from HP website for my Probook 470 G5, it acts like it is installing successfully until I restart. Then it is still with the old driver from 2019. This is quite annoying.
