Hey there @HARDoD!

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues, with help from the community!

I understand that there is no audio from front speakers.

Please try to update audio drivers from the link below and let me know the status.

Before installing the drivers uninstall the audio driver from device manager please follow the steps.

Go to windows desktop

Hold Windows key + Letter R key.

Run dialog box would open type devmgmt.msc

Device manager window will open.

Go to audio inputs and outputs.

Right click the audio driver and click uninstall.

Please find the link to download audio drivers: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/57501-58000/sp57966.exe

Please let me know the outcome.

Have a great day!

@HARDKoD thanks for the reply,

Please try the steps mentioned below.

Go to device manager.

Go to sound video and game controller.

Select high definition sound device.

Right click properties go to driver tab then click on update driver,

Then click browse computer for driver software.

Go to second option stating let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.

Click on high definition audio device, not the IDT audio codec.

Let me know if this helps.

Have a great day!

Done.

But after that no sound at all from any speakers.

Now in "Playback devices" lost "Headphones" option. Only  "Speakers".

Maybe its something about correct "ports" of sound card?

Or can it be "hardware" problem? Maybe broken frontal speakers etc... Maybe HP have some diagnostic utilites? Diagnostic (f11 or something) when laptop starts doesnt have"speaker test" option. Only memory and hdd...

@HARDKoD thanks for the reply,

Thanks for performing troubleshooting steps mentioned previously.

Yes, we can perform audio diagnostics to  check whether it is a hardware problem. Please find the steps below.

Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
Turn on the computer and immediately press the F2 key repeatedly, about once every second.
The HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu is displayed. Click Component Tests.

The Component Tests menu displays. Click Audio.

Click Run once to start the test.

Select Speaker to begin the test.

During the test, a few music notes will be played in sequence and repeatedly. Listen carefully and select the number of notes you hear in the sequence. If you enter a tone number incorrectly, run the test again. If you hear nothing, select No sound.

When the Audio Test is complete, the results are displayed on the screen.
If the audio test passes, return to the Main menu to exit and restart the computer.

Let me know how it goes,

Have a great day!
