Hello There,

I hope you and your family is keeping themselves safe & well during this time of the year. I've created this message to inform you that I'm having issues trying to use my laptop's front-firing speakers which is branded Bang & Olufsen however I'm having no issues operating the device with the bottom 2 down-firing speakers but I brought this device specifically to immerse myself with the front-firing speakers which isn't activating even after further implications of trying to update the audio drivers in device manager but repeatedly getting prompted with my device having the latest audio drivers installed message and I've also tried going into B&O Audio Control and HP Audio Switch but no real option to activate it were found either... Therefore I took the opportunity to share this issue on here since I had no significant help from the internet regarding this issue yet.

Thank You Very Much For Reading, I really appreciate the effort however can you help me solve this issue if you don't mind?

Thank You,

SAPPHIREGEM2021.

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Keep me posted how it goes

Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

Hello,

I'm Sorry I haven't replied in a while however I've downloaded the driver which you linked in the forum but soon found out that It didn't help me fix the problem which I faced with the laptop's front firing (BANG & OLUFSEN) speakers other than that It worked fine with operating my two other speakers which I've mentioned before were the down-firing speakers which were functional even before the installation of the driver which you linked. Therefore the situation is pretty much the same otherwise I hope you can find another method to help me solve this issue.

Thank You For Reading.

Hello There Once More,

I found these drivers when I searched  for 'Sound, video and game controllers' & 'Audio inputs and outputs' in device manager, I hope this gives you an idea of what I've got installed already on my device and If I need to download any missing drivers do let me know. Here are the pictures of it:

Hello,

I've tried Implementing your most recent suggestion however the driver ,which you linked, I tried to install it but it kept always opening up a empty 'Windows Command Processor' at the end of the process without any notification referring to the completion of the procedure which really disorientated my interpretation on how a normal driver would install therefore I took further action by restarting my device and checking if the front-firing (BANG & OLUFSEN) speakers were activated and without any temptation I eventually discovered nothing changed in the Device Manager or to the current situation which I'm facing with activating the front-firing speakers. Therefore, I won't capitulate but keep thriving to solve this perplexing mission to fix the front-firing speakers.

You aren't alone... I've been having the exact same problem; no drivers have helped me. I'm starting to think that there are either no speakers there and it is simply a design flair, or the speakers are not wired in, as i can't find them as a device!

Hello,

I read your post & would like to clarify if your device is the same like mines and what process did you encounter prior your discovery of the drivers not resolving the issue your facing with the audio from the front firing speakers. Since I feel like if we work together on this situation we could figure out how to fix it. I've conducted various research upon this example and have noticed some people fixed it by either updating their bios or even removing their current Realtek audio drivers to replace it with Conexant audio drivers however to clearly justify these methods work I need sufficient evidence, therefore are you willing enough to help me carry out these experiments to potentially find out if they can help fix the issue? Do let me know with a reply. I've eventually noticed why people have switched their audio drivers, apparently its due to the conflict between Microsoft audio drivers and the Bang & Olufsen audio drivers after installing Windows 10 when you first ever boot up the device ready for setup & usage that hinders the third speaker from ever getting recognised for activation after the process. Yes I said third speaker because on the product specification page from where I bought this device from referred it to obtaining 3 speakers therefore 2 on the bottom and 1 on the top near the keyboard. However what really irritates me is this that people have complained over years over this particular issue with the Bang & Olufsen speakers on various HP models not just the envy but including the spectre too. I will link the articles that have the content for these questions that never got solved if you request it. I'm not neglecting HP in a negative way or anything like that, I'm just stating my honest opinion, Yes HP is a very well recognised brand which I'm used for many years even before buying this product but silly little things like speakers not working could potentially harm their reputation. Now moving on, Hopefully one of the HP Support Agent replies with some optimistic news to brighten the path to fix the problem but until then I will check everyday hopefully until that eventually occurs. Otherwise, Have A Great Day! Good Luck Investing Time Into Investigating A Interpretation that could possible lead to success into fixing the front firing speakers problem. Thank You For Reading!

(Quick Note: The Speakers do work there's sufficient evidence out there on the internet showing footage of the speakers working perfectly fine on WORKING DEVICES and also I've noticed the speaker working only on the first day of turning on the device through the simple step guided Cortana voice setup process therefore it's not there for a design perspective but for a quality experience with the speakers. Moreover, I getting really tired of typing up responses that purely have the same old repetitive theme to them centralised on the guidance provided by HP Support Agent not helping to fix the problem, Oh Well looking forward to what HP Support Team say concerning this. I hope they find the fix...)
