HP ENVY x360 Convertible 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

A few weeks ago my HP Envy started having low and staticy/tinny audio through my wired headphones. I checked to see if the problem was with the wired headphones. I switched out the headphones and had the same issue. Those headphones worked perfectly when they were plugged into other devices. Also, the audio was fine when I was using my bluetooth headphones or my laptop speakers so I'm sure the issue is with the audio jack. Any help would be appreciated!

Other details

  • the issue seemed to happen after a Windows update
  • My laptop is only 4 months old
  • I have an AMD Processor

Solutions I have tried

  • Windows Diagnostics (found no issues)
  • HP UEFI Diagnostics (found no issues)
  • Using HP Support Assistant to get latest Updates
  • Disabling Spatial Sound
  • Disabling audio enhancements
  • Reinstalling Realtek Audio drivers (might have done this wrong)

@KaiserRoll22

This is something to do with AMD drivers. Please

(a) Uninstall Audio driver

(b) do a cleanup using following information/fix:

        https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/gpu-601

        https://drivers.amd.com/drivers/amdcleanuputility.exe

(c) reboot machine

Machine will re-install Audio driver for you.

Regards.

Thanks for the response. Can you tell me how specifically to uninstall the audio driver. Should I use the device manager?
