Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

(I apologize if this topic has been already discussed, however none of the other solutions helped me, nor i`ve seen the same issue)

Hello , I have an Omen 15-dc1055nl with just a few months of life , however this issue persisted since day 1. It is not a hardware issue as speakers sound just fine if they have the correct driver. My issue is that only 2 drivers work for the audio on this laptop,  the original (realtek) driver which gives good speaker quality , but terrible microphone quality and delayed audio start , and the (microsoft) default drivers which give perfect audio quality , perfect microphone quality but the sound starts crackling and popping after restarting. I have tried windows update drivers, the original hp drivers , new realtek drivers , i`ve tried all the drivers i could find in the device manager , but nothing , only these 2 seem to appear and work , but they have obvious drawbacks. What I don`t understand is why the default (microsoft) drivers, work perfectly at first , then after the reboot they break.

*NOTE : Disabling or enabling enhancements does absolutely nothing.

If there`s anyway to fix it , or someone knows some drivers that work perfectly , please let me know. Thank you.

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are facing issues with the audio driver on the computer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

Do you have HP support assistant installed on your computer? If yes, then run the audio diagnostics from the HP support assistant and it will automatically find and fix the audio issue.

If you do not have HP support assistant installed, then uninstall the audio driver from the device manager and then download and install the driver from the below link.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp105001-105500/sp105441.exe

Here is how it is done.

  1. Type "Device Manager" into the search field to open the device manager console.
  2. Expand the node that represents the type of device that you want to uninstall, right-click the device entry, and click Uninstall.
  3. On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click OK to start the uninstall process.
  4. When the uninstall process is complete, remove the device.

NOTE: On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click the Delete the driver software for this device option to delete the driver package that was used for the device.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
