Omen 15-dc0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello. I found an issue with my speakers i'm not able to solve yet, and it is the left one is quieter than the right one, and all the sound seems to moves forward to that last one mostly.

Already tried updating audio driver to the latest version (realtek 6.0.8746.1) also checking audio balance to see it was correct, and even got the latest bios update, and not even that solve the problem. Also the speakers seems to start with a decent volumen and a few minutes later it lower both of it for no reason to a not so acceptable level, not altering at all the volume dimmer.

It seems to be clearly a software issue, due it also reflects on earphones plugged in, but can not find a way to solve it.

(had to post it again since i never got an answer to my claim)

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are facing issues with the audio on the computer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you follow the below steps and check if it helps.

The audio troubleshooter might be able to fix audio problems automatically.

To run the troubleshooter

  1. In the search box on the taskbar, type audio troubleshooter, select Fix and find problems with playing sound from the results, then select Next.
  2. Select the device you want to troubleshoot and then continue through the troubleshooter.

choose your device in the audio troubleshooter

You can also launch the troubleshooter from audio Settings. Select Start  > Settings > System  > Sound  > Troubleshoot.

If running the troubleshooter doesn't help, continue to the next tip.

Verify that all Windows Updates are installed

To check for updates

  1. Select Start  > Settings  > Update & Security  > Windows Update   > Check for updates.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • If the status says "You're up to date, go to the next tip.
    • If the status says "Updates are available," select Install now
  3.  Select the updates you want to install, then select Install.
  4.  Restart your PC and see if your sound is working properly.

If that didn't solve your problem, continue to the next tip.

Restart Audio Services

  1.  In the search box on the taskbar, type services, then select it from the results.
  2. Select each of the following services, right-click, and then select Restart:
    • Windows Audio
    • Windows Audio Endpoint Builder
    • Remote Procedure Call (RPC)

restart audio services: Windows Audio, Windows Endpoint Builder, and Remote Procedure Call (RPC)

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Thanx for your response. Unfortunately non of this are the solution of my problem. As i investigated by myself, it seem to be an issue with a specific driver: realtek 6.0.8746.1

I solved the issue rolling back to Windows default audio driver. The problem now is that it doesn't allow me to use audio enhancements provided by HP Audio software (HP Audio Control/OMEN Audio Control), so i can't improve my sound quality nor even equalize it, as it has poor bass and what seems to be lower volume without those features.

Any other Realtek audio driver you could provide me that works for my machine and a link to download it? As the other update softwares only download the one that's causing this issue (if it shows any update available)

Thank you for posting back.

Firstly, perform Windows Update and HP Support Assistant: (do not skip any troubleshooting steps if you feel steps are repeating)

To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.

Install updates from HP Support Assistant: Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.

  1. To open HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon https://support.hp.com/doc-images/932/c05040382.jpg.
  2. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
  3. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
  4. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
  5. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
  6. Select the box next to any updates you want to install,

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

As you can see, both utillities show as the device is already up to date and doesn't recognize any audio driver upgrade available

You aren't getting the issue here. The problem is within a specific audio driver. When i update from Windows default driver, it upgrades to the same Realtek one that cause the issue. So what i need isn't troubleshooting steps, but another Realtek driver that could fit my device other than the one i mentioned before that is faulty.

It's just as simple as providing me another driver i can try on my device to check if it can work properly

Thank you for posting back.

To get the answer to this question, the latest audio driver will be rolled out to your computer as soon as Microsoft release.

However, by performing Audio driver roll back will rectify most audio driver related conflicts.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

I have the same problem with my omen 15. Did you find any solution?

@KennyOsorio

Thank you for posting back.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
  • Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?
  • Did you make any changes on the settings of your PC prior to the issue?
  • When was the last time it worked fine?
  • Have you checked the audio via headphone or external speakers?

Keep me posted for further assistance.
