HP Spectre
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

So I have the most annoying issue going on with my HP Spectre. Absolutely love this laptop, but randomly out of nowhere one day my sound starts..... bouncing. That is the best way I can describe it. It doesn't matter the source - iTunes, Spotfy, YouTube, ANYTHING!

Audio will start playing fine from both speakers, and then the audio from the left speaker drops significantly which makes it sound like the sound is bouncing to the right speaker, and then audio comes back to both speakers for a few seconds. It does this in a fairly regular pattern.

I have looked online and haven't found anyone experiencing the same issue. I have lived with this issue for a while, updated my Windows 10 yesterday (which I was hoping would resolve the issue), but it was no use.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

@BearSquad805

I reviewed your post and I understand that the audio drops from the left speaker randomly.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

What is the product number of your computer?

Meanwhile, I recommend you uninstall the audio driver from the device manager and then download and install it from the below link.

https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers

Here is how it is done.

  1. Type "Device Manager" into the search field to open the device manager console.
  2. Expand the node that represents the type of device that you want to uninstall, right-click the device entry, and click Uninstall.
  3. On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click OK to start the uninstall process.
  4. When the uninstall process is complete, remove the device.

NOTE: On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click the Delete the driver software for this device option to delete the driver package that was used for the device.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
