My HP Spectre X360 t13t-ae000: The battery has swollen. I have ordered a replacement battery. Meanwhile to use the laptop I have removed the swollen battery and put the bottom panel back on.  Am now running on the cord and the house electricity. But: Now the sounds are distorted. I wonder if it is safe for the computer to run like this?

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

I understand that your HP notebook battery is swollen. To get the answer to this question, you can use a laptop without the battery only with the ac adapter, as long as it is connected to the power but if the plug comes out from your system it will turn off and can damage files and the OS even.  And, also it is not recommended for long run use it's just temporary use.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thank you. Am using it & that's OK, but the sound is totally distorted. Is that normal when the battery is out that the B&O speakers are making totally weird sounds, unintelligible speech??

Thank you for posting back.

Have you tried external speakers or headphones?

Ideally, it should not make such a distorted sound from the speakers.
