HP Spectre x360 Convertible Audio Issues

I acquired my HP Spectre during December of 2017. I haven't had any issues with the device up until this point. As of now, I am unable to play audio sourcing from any applications other than Internet Explorer.
Being a Google Chrome user, I first noticed it while trying to play an audio clip required for a class. I quickly transitioned over to YouTube and tried to play a video, still no sound. I opened up a Internet Explorer and it played sound as if nothing was wrong. Google Chrome still did not work. I went into chrome settings and couldn't find a solution. I also don't hear any audio from Spotify.
I still receive windows tones when booting up my computer. However, other than Internet Explorer, that is the only audio I receive. I have re-installed and updated audio drivers and followed every tutorial I could get my hands on. However, I still can't find a solution. I am not sure why this only exists with applications other than Internet Explorer.
I am not sure what to think of this situation. Any/all advice is appreciated.
