Hi:
Restart the PC and tap the F10 key at the beginning of the HP welcome screen to get into the BIOS.
Then see the link below for the bios setup menus.
The onboard audio setting should be where the other settings are listed on page 12.

Hi:
You can download the latest audio driver directly from Realtek.
Accept the agreement. Download and install the 1st driver on the list.

Yes but there should also be a realtek one for the speakers.
By any chance did you install a graphics card with an HDMI port?
That would be the only reason I could imagine why you have a amd high definition audio device listed there, and that would explain why the onboard sound isn't working.
If you did, I will tell you how to get the onboard sound back.

Ok, Daga:
You need to re-enable the onboard audio setting in the BIOS.
On those old PC's the BIOS doesn't know that the HDMI audio is part of the graphics card, so not only does it disable the onboard video when you install a graphics card, it also disables the onboard audio, because it thinks you added an audio card too.
Here's the fix...
Go into the BIOS>Advanced Menu>Device Options section and find the onboard audio setting.
It will be set to Disabled. Change the setting to Enabled. Save the setting there and again when you exit the BIOS.
Upon restart and back into Windows, you should have the onboard sound working again.
