Hi @sunil25393,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums. It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.

I understand you are having issues with the headphone not working on your new HP Notebook. I'd be glad to help you.

As you mentioned in your post that it's 2 days old PC. I would suggest you put the headphone jack in, you have to REALLY push in until your jack is completely flush with the laptop side surface.

If the issue persists, let's try these steps:

Uninstall the audio drivers from device manager and click on Ok and restart the PC. Now try to install the drivers from our HP support website.

For more detailed steps, click here

If this does not help, try a different headphone or you could try these headphones on another PC. Just to make sure that it's not an issue with the headphones.

If nothing works, before you come to a conclusion that it's a hardware failure. You could try and perform a system recovery from the partition. Doing this will delete all the data and set the PC back to the factory shipped settings. If this option does not work, this means either the partition is corrupted or missing.

The only other way to install Windows would be to order the recovery media for your laptop and using the recovery media you can install Windows. You can check if the recovery media is available online on www.hp.com/drivers by entering the exact model no. of your laptop. To find the exact model no. click here: http://hp.care/2bygf7l

Otherwise, you could also reach HP phone support to order the recovery media. Please fill out an online form on www.hp.com/contacthp to reach phone support.

Let me know if you need any further assistance. Thanks again!
