HP Pavilion Laptop 15-cs2082tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

i was working on my laptop and my father gave me a pair of HP headphone to try and test out. I tried to insert the TRRS HP 3.5mm jack headphone into the left side panel of the laptop.

2 things happened:

1. the headphone jack did not insert completely into the laptop and i could only hear through the headphones if I jiggled and moved the jack sideways.

2. After I removed the Headphones from the port, the laptop's inbuilt B&O speakers stopped working i.e. no sound could be audible from them.

Please help..

Have you tried using external speakers? Do they work?

Hey Hi Tej1602,

It seems that there is a small colorless plastic sphere in the socket.. when I remove the partially inserted 3.5mm jack from the socket...the external speakers do not play any sound...However, I tried to move the sphere and managed to move it upwards from the bottom of the socket to where it does not push against any pins in the socket.. I am able to hear sound from the laptop's onboard speakers..

Please note I have never used the headphone socket prior to this... Is there a manufacturing problem that a small plastic sphere is left in the socket?

Also please advise, how do I remove the sphere entirely from the socket? I do not want to open/put a sharp instrument into the socket.

Thanks

Abhi.

@Abhirama

Ideally, there shouldn't be any obstructions as such. The description sounds like a hardware issue to me.
