I've had my laptop for a little over a year & haven't had a problem until yesterday with my speakers. All of a sudden my sound stopped working & there's a noticeable high pitch ringing tone being emitted from my speakers. The only way for me to get it to stop is to press mute. No other audio is coming out of my speakers. When I plug in headphones I can hear actual audio, but the high pitch ringing tone is still being emitted from the speakers. It's very annoying because the ringing is noticeable in a quieter environment. I've tried literally every troubleshooting method, computer restart, updated all my HP software through HP support assistant, set to BIOS default setting, & uninstall/switch/update of my audio drivers and nothing has gotten my speakers to work again. I'm pretty tech savvy so not being able to figure this out on my own is frustrating. Hopefully this is fixable & I'm not the only one with this problem. Please help!!
