Hp Envy x360 Speaker Crackle

HP Recommended
Hp Envy x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I purchased this computer brand new under a month ago.  Whenever I try to play audio, the Bang and Olufsen audio system crackles and the volume gets much quieter.  I have uninstalled all sound drivers, reinstalled, and updated the BOIS with no change in symptoms.

Hi @Chandler231

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Try testing the hardware -

1. Shutdown the computer.

2. Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.

3. Press F2 once.

4. Go to Component test.

5. From the list, run the audio test.

If the hardware is fine, please back-up the data and re-install the operating system -

1. Shutdown the computer.

2. Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.

3. Press F11 once for System Recovery.

4. Choose the Keyboard Layout.

5. Click on Troubleshoot.

6. Go to Recovery Manager and click on System Recovery.

Note : System Recovery will delete everything that you had saved or installed on the computer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
