HP Recommended
hp250 g7
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Internal speakers work fine, but microphone is dead as a doornail. No sound response, just grey bars.

Mic is set as default, 44Khz, levels 100%, etc.
Tried everything in the support docs.

Device listed is "Realtek audio" in the sound section of the control panel.

It's odd that the speakers work, but the mic does not, as I would assume they would share the same peizo. I've not looked inside yet though.

What on earth could be wrong?

p.s. HP is claiming their warranty has expired, even though I bought it only a few months ago.
