HP Envy x360 13ay0008na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

On device manager there is an orange warning triangle next to AMD audio device, windows settings show no input devices, have tried automatic and manual driver updates with no luck. The microphone mute button on the keyboard initially did not function either (it was off and pressing it did not show the indicator light), now it is stuck on.

HP's audio diagnostic tool showed: detected "the microphone or headphone is unplugged"

Any help is greatly appreciated, no idea if this is a hardware or software issue at this point.

The specs of your machine is

             https://support.hp.com/hk-en/document/c06630647

It has   AMD Ryzen™ 5 4500U (2.3 GHz base clock, up to 4.0 GHz max boost clock, 3 MB L2 cache, 6 cores) processor.

This is something to do with AMD drivers. Please

(a) Uninstall Audio driver

(b) do a cleanup using following information/fix:

      https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/gpu-601
      https://drivers.amd.com/drivers/amdcleanuputility.exe

(c) reboot machine

Machine will re-install Audio driver for you.

Regards.

I have the same problem but my notebook has Intel Core i5 processor and not AMD. What's the solution?
