Loud buzzing noise from the right vent of HP Spectre X 360 Convertible
03-21-2021 10:38 AM

Hi,
I recently bought a HP-Spectre X 360 convertible about two months ago. It was working fine till today, when I suddenly started getting a loud buzzing noise from the right vent of the laptop ( the sound is concentrated on the right vent ). Here are a few observations:
1) If I dont connect my headphones (wireless or otherwise), I always get the sound when I play videos, say on youtube.
2) If I connect my headphones, I get the sound for a brief second and it stops.
Could you please let me know if there is any possible solution for this.
Thank you.

Hi,
Do you also get the sound when playing music saved on the PC?
You can contact HP support directly if the PC is under warranty as it could be a hardware problem with the right speaker which is near the right vent. Most likely when you use the headphones the power to the speakers is only given briefly at startup and then passes to the headphones.
Does it sound like the fans are making a "scratching " kind of noise?
To contact HP you can get contact info by identifying your PC in the link below

Hope it helps,
David

Its more of a white noise kind of a sound. I was trying to reproduce this sound again, but I am not able to now. I am not sure now if I can prove to HP to ask for a replacement.
